In one week we had a family of 3 racoons and a big bear attack our garbage can. If you look, you can see claw marks from the bear on the top of the lid. As you can see the lid doesn't fit very well any more.

So we bought bungee cords from the local dollar store hoping it would work. When we went to the door this night we didn't know if we'd see racoons or a bear. I grabbed my camera and started filming.

I thought racoons just got into the garbage by knocking it over, I didn't realize just how much effort a racoon will use to get into a garbage can.

I apologize for the length of the video, but it is the whole show of the racoon on this one night. I've tried to make it less tedious with music. The bungee cords kept the racoon out of the garbage.
